In the construction industry, PVC, which comprises 57% chlorine, is used for window frames, pipes and cables. Chlorine is also used in the manufacture of other plastics, fibreglass for insulation, silicone adhesives, paints and many other materials.
Chlorine is also used in the manufacture of electrical components, floor coverings, moulding strips, roofing materials, paints and varnishes.
